An incredibly strong debut recording from this artist and composer! Each of these melodically rich and innovative works is masterfully played by Lynette on solo harp. Her composing often attempts to expand the potential of the Celtic harp beyond its traditional folklorica, and to stretch the performer's technique as well. Her Historical Suite, which represents Early, Classical, & Impressionist music, won first place for original composition at the 1991 International Celtic Harp Festival in Dinan (see sheet music below). The beautiful Adagiorequires 18 manual lever shifts, as a chromatic study for the Celtic harp's normal diatonic tuning. Other outstanding selections include Sonatina, Old French Carol, Two Ancient Airsby Gaspar Sanz, and The Far Isle. Fantasie Ibérique,is a free-form romance that moves through fiery, sultry and dance-like moods, while closely imitating various techniques of flamenco and classical Spanish guitar.
